One of licorice's most important uses is as a demulcent in the digestive and urinary tracts. De-glycyrrhizinated Licorice (DGL) is processed to remove the majority of glycyrrhizinic acid. Combined with the soothing effects of marshmallow and ginger, DGL is intende to provide nutritive support for digestive system health. Contact with saliva is suggested to help activate the DGL.
