50% of the Vitamin C in this product is rapidly released once inside the stomach (first stage). The remaining Vitamin C is gradually released over a 12-hour period (second stage). One capsule in the morning and another 12 hours later supplies 2000 mg of Vitamin C over a 24-hour period.
