50% of the Vitamin C in this product is rapidly released once inside the stomach (first stage). The remaining Vitamin C is gradually released over a 12-hour period (second stage). By taking one capsule in the morning and another 12 hours later, 1000mg of Vitamin C will be released over a 24-hour period. This product contains Calcium Carbonate and Magnesium Oxide to buffer the natural acidity of Vitamin C.
